5 Best Free Agents for Week 11
Nothing worse than missing a handcuff. Completely whiffed on Chester Taylor. Could make the excuse that it's not one of my major leagues (no money, got in for practice) but that's talk for the Myspace crowd. Make a mistake, take the heat. Taylor is the obvious fish. Problem is most people have him rotting on their bench already. Here's the Five:
Chester Taylor/Mewelde More:Likely gone in most leagues but Taylor is a RB1/2 with a nice offensive line and no passing game. He is an immediate boost to any team needing an RB. Why Mewelde Moore... insurance.
Anthony Taylor: Marshawn Lynch was injured at the end of theBuffalo/Miami snoozer Sunday. It may be nothing, but Anthny Thomas is available and competent at the position. Best for Lynch owners, next best for owners not likely to get Taylor. Keep an eye open for news on Lynch. He may play and all this would be moot; except for Lynch owners... stop screwing around.
Matt Schaub: We're not fans of picking up backup QBs for the sake of picking up backup QBs. Many leagues there are guys with more QBs than underwear. That said, if you need a second QB or even a starter, you could do worse than Schaub, who has skills and, more importantly, Andre Johnson returning.
Lions RBs: Kevin Jones felt a twinge as did his million owners. He could be fine, he could be having an issue. The problem: Who is his damn replacement? Cason took some of the plays Sunday, Duckett would get the pill at the pole and Tatum Bell, he of the three true outcomes: long runs, bad fumbles and whining to the press, is the most talented. Better to avoid the mess and not waste a pickup.
JaMarcus Russell/Michael Bush: Future shock. There is no way Russell sits on the bench the remainder of the season. And the Raiders running game is a mess, too (Fargus is a free agent, Jordan is physically unable to play). If Bush is healthy, he gets a shot. Keeper league peeps should pay attention.
With trade deadlines popping up and the regular season nearing its end, free agent picks are a big necessity... feed the beast now.
